FOURTH TONGTONGAN TI UMILI CONGRESS AIMED TOWARDS THE ADVANCING OF THE PEOPLES’ STRUGGLES IN METRO-BAGUIO

Baguio City (April 21)—Tongtongan Ti Umili will be holding its fourth Congress this Saturday, April 24 at the Baguio Central School with the theme “Strengthen Our Organization, Further Advance the Peoples’ Struggles in Metro-Baguio!”. The said Congress seeks to unite the people of Baguio on the pressing issues of the country from the national, regional and local levels, and to make a unified stand on the current system.

“With the current political and economic system of our country where the poor experience neglect from the government, it is only right that we should further strengthen our ranks in our fight for our rights. We must pressure and push the government to heed our calls. Otherwise we will push our campaign to call for his ouster” stated Perry Mendoza, spokesperson of Tongtongan Ti Umili.

TTU, along with various sectoral organizations has been campaigning for the rights of the Filipino people in health, education, labor, livelihood, and housing amongst others which the Aquino regime has been ineffective in responding to for so long. The group stated that the Congress is timely for the coming 2014 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of Aquino where he will just be once again promising lies and deceptions to the wider Filipino masses.

“We were never deceived by his promises from the first day he stepped in position. Now, the Filipino people are opening their eyes on the deceptions that this government has been doing. Until now, Napoles has not been sentenced guilty for her crimes, community leaders have been killed, basic social services are nowhere to be found. We are angered with this government, the time is right for us to forward our ranks” ended Mendoza.
