State of the Health Address: The Filipino People are DYING under the Aquino Regime

With the nearing of the State of the Nation Address of Aquino on July 28, the people of Baguio will be holding the State of the Health Address (SOHA) on July 23. There will be a short program from 1:00-2:00pm at the Baguio People’s Park, and from hereon they will be divided into teams that will go around the city. This SOHA will be led by Health for the People Brigade, Innabuyog-Gabriela and Tontongan ti Umili, as part of the month-long build-up of activities for their own SONA ng Mamamayan on the 28th.

“Under four years under the Aquino regime, we see how its abandonment of the people has aggravated. The budget for health remains low while the prices and fees for health services continue to increase, as further promoted by Aquino’s Public-Private Peartnership (PPP) program” said Marc Mendiola, convenor of the Health for the People Brigade.

Recently, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed by the BGHMC administration along with Makati Medical Center. The group is now trying to get a copy of the MOA to understand further its implications in the services to be provided by the BGHMC.

Along with this, Ricca Llanes, deputy secretary-general of Innabuyog-Gabriela stated that “The PPP-driven Health Agenda of Aquino is a deadly policy following the dictates of foreign and local big businesses without any regard for the dire situation of the Filipino people. The four years of Aquino has resulted to an increase in maternal and child deaths”.

Various sectoral organizations under the Tongtongan Ti Umili has been holding activities since the start of the month to raise the awareness of the people of Baguio on the current state of the country under four years of the US-Aquino regime.

“On the 28th, the people of Baguio and the Cordilleras will join together to express the TRUE state of the nation, because we already expect his speech to be composed of one lie after the other. Simple lang, traydor si Aquino sa mamamayan kung kaya naman siya ay ating hahatulan. Itakwil ang Papet, Pasista at Korap na Rehimeng US-Aquino” ended Tracy Anne Dumalo, secretary-general of Tongtongan Ti Umili.
