Regional formation of Anakbayan in Cordillera condemned the Philippine National Police (PNP) for their violent way of confronting protesters, calling for the ouster of President Benigno Aquino, during the commencement exercises of the Philippine Military Academy today.
Aquino was getting out of PMA premise when confronted with demonstrators. Protesters were then staging a human placard where call for the ouster of the president was written.
Two of them were severely hurt. Joel Capulong, member of Alliance of Concerned Teachers, was reportedly hit by a police with a wooden cudgel, resulting to bruises on the lower right part of his stomach. King Cris Pulmano, spokesperson of Anakbayan Metro Baguio, was meanwhile strangled while dragging him with his neck.
“All we want is a peaceful program to air our disgust for Noynoy Aquino. However, the PNP responded with violence,” said Pulmano
