Baguio City—Tongtongan Ti Umili-CPA will be conducting an activity entitled “SPEAK OUT! Ano ang masasabi mo sa administrasyon ni Aquino?” as part of a nationally coordinated action to call for truth, justice and accountability. The activity, which will be held at Baguio People’s Park on March 20 (from 1:00-6:00pm) aims to encourage Baguio citizens to voice out their views on the current administration, especially after Aquino’s series of failures. His failure to answer and become accountable towards the creation and implementation of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and the results of the Board of Inquiry on the Mamasapano Tragedy are just a few of the reasons why Aquino should be held responsible.
“We are disgusted with Aquino and how he continues to tell lies to the people amidst the Pork Barrel Scam and Mamasapano tragedy. He still believes that the people are supporting him when he has not done anything for the people. This is clearly seen in the plummeting of his rating at the recent survey” stated Tracy Dumalo, secretary-general of Tongtongan Ti Umili-CPA.
The group, along with other organizations and individuals in Baguio encourages everyone to join and participate in this activity to speak out their issues and concerns which has not been given any response from the government for so long. TTU-CPA is also calling for Aquino to step down and a People’s Transition Council should be placed in return.
“We are in no way calling for VP Binay to become the next president if Aquino steps down since he is also involved in the pork barrel scam and other atrocities. The only alternative is for a People’s Transition Council to be formed. We don’t want a ‘take two’ on the current problems of the country. Enough is enough” added Dumalo.
The People’s Transition Council will be composed of representatives from all sectors and will pave the way for a true democratic government. This is not impossible because the government, through the push of the people, has already called for a Constitutional Convention after the ouster of Marcos. The said Convention was also composed of sectoral representatives from all-over the nation. Before holding another national election, the Transition Council will ensure that all the current concerns in the government are resolved, and that all politicians who disobeyed the law will be punished.
